Les Deux Alpes

AN AMAZING MOUNTAIN AND RESORTAhhh… Austria from the incredible terrain to the unbelievable après ski…
Take it from us, and everyone who went in 05, absolutely nowhere even comes close to Mayrhofen. With the endless mountain ranges, massive glacier and consistent snow, in which record breaking falls are not uncommon… the infamous Burton snow park and a nightlife and après ski scene that is described as “the best anywhere in Europe” – it makes other resorts look somewhat weak in comparison.

Unlike many modern resorts, Mayrhofen is a real place - an alpine village rather than a tower of concrete blocks. Its compact, and well facilitated with 25 shops (5 supermarkets), 43 restaurants, 18 bars and 3 nightclubs.

Mayrhofen is built for Apres Ski. The atmosphere starts as you come off the ski lift where crowds spill out from the Ice Bar (which shifts more Grolsch each winter than any other bar or club in the world), and people gather in the street to eat and drink. The locals are friendly folk and best of all, they love to party - they'll even close the street off for us so we can party outside.

The clubs are kitted out for fun - with kicking sound systems and multiple bar areas, allowing us to party until 4am which will make sure everyone on Winter Break is totally satisfied when the night really does have to end! The food and drink is great too - offering grills, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Austrian style food - anything really - all cheap as chips. Try grabbing a fresh meat sanwich from the butchers for about 80p! Drinks wise, you'll be looking at about 2 - 3.50 Euros for a pint of beer, which is cracking value compared to other resorts in France and Switzerland, and will ensure everyone on Winter Break has enough money left for a pressie for the folks!
